This web app uses one of the largest cloud services suppliers to store your data, as it is the most secure data storage available.

Cloud providers invest heavily in cybersecurity to protect their customers and infrastructure. As an example, it's estimated that Amazon spends billions of dollars on cybersecurity measures annually. This investment includes a range of initiatives, such as advanced threat detection systems, encryption technologies, security training programs for employees, and continuous monitoring of its systems for potential vulnerabilities. With the increase in cyber threats, Amazon remains committed to ensuring the highest level of security for its operations and the customers who rely on its services.

This web app does not store any files on your computer, not even temporarily.

Computers get lost/stolen/thrown away and the hard drives within them are rarely encrypted so the data residing on them can be accessed easily. It's not difficult to take a hard drive out of a computer and access the files residing on it.

Just type "hard drive reader" into the amazon search bar and you will see a variety of devices, like the one pictured here, that will enable you to read the contents of a hard drive.

The apps on your computer are able to access the files on your computer and send out your sensitive files. It basically comes down to how much do you trust your apps to not do this.

App stores such as Apple App Store and the Google Play Store actively monitor and check their apps to ensure that they will not steal your data.

Be very careful of apps download from the internet. Hackers will try to get you to install malicious apps that can steal data, take over your accounts, and more.

From a security standpoint, downloading an Excel spreadsheet with macros (file extension .xslm) from the internet is a terrible idea. The same technology that allows you to write a simple excel macro to send an email when a specific number changes in a spreadsheet, is the same technology that allows a hacker to help themselves to your data from your computer. read more here.

This can be validated by checking your browser connection is using the https protocol. This protocol secures communications by using what's known as an asymmetric public key infrastructure.
